Pumpkin Masks

What You Need:

Paper plate

Crayons, markers, or tempera paint

Hole punch

Green yarn or elastic

For older kids

Tissue paper

What to Do:

1. Draw a jack o'lantern face on the back of the plate.

2. Cut out the face then color the mask orange with crayons, markers or paint. Older kids might want to glue torn up pieces of tissue paper instead. Decorate. Allow to dry.

3. Punch a hole on each side of the mask.

4. Tie the green yarn or elastic in the holes on the sides then around your head. Tighten as needed.

Other ideas

Bat: Color the mask black. Add black wings to the sides after attaching the black yarn or elastic to the holes on the sides.

Witch: Color the mask green. Add a black hat and some red hair to the top. To make a "3-D" mask, at the top cut about an inch on each side (see picture) then overlap the sides and staple in place.

Black cat: Color the mask black. Add cat ears and whiskers (use white pipe cleaners).
